Sandor Boyson

Dr. Sandor Boyson is the Co-Director for the Supply Chain Management Center and Professor at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business. In that capacity, he directed the three-year $1million research project on Logistics Best Practices for the U.S. Department of Energy involving the College's Logistics and Transportation faculty group and over six hundred industry-leading firms. The findings of this pioneering project was published by John Wiley & Sons in March, 1999 in a book entitled Logistics and The Extended Enterprise: Benchmarks and Best Practices for the Manufacturing Professional.

Dr. Boyson is currently directing surveys on physical and electronic supply chain channel practices for the National Industrial Transportation League, the largest organization of shippers in the United States, and the Data-Interchange Standards Association. These two business groups comprise over two thousand companies involved in supply chain activities. In addition, Dr. Boyson is directing a research project for the Defense advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on management practices associated with Netcentricity; and a project on logistics best practices for the Army Logisitics Integration Agency.
