AFEI Announces Winners of its 2008 Excellence in Enterprise Integration Awards
The Association for Enterprise Integration (AFEI) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 Excellence in Enterprise Integration Awards. The top Industry award went to the NAVSYS Corporation for their Talon NAMATH Program. The top government award went to US JFCOM for Joint Knowledge Development Distribution Capability. The awards will be presented during AFEI's DoD Open Technologies Conference, October 29 in Washington, DC.

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) October 2, 2008 -- The Association for Enterprise Integration (AFEI) will recognize the winners of its 6th annual Excellence in Enterprise Integration Awards. The awards will be presented during AFEI's DoD Open Technologies Conference, October 29.

The winner of the Industry category was the NAVSYS Corporation in Colorado Springs for their Talon NAMATH Program which enabled Precision GPS Ephemeris (PGE) data to be provided directly to the warfighter in the field using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

An Honorable Mention Award in the Industry category will go to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company for the C-130J Global Sustainment Program at Marietta, GA.

The winner of the Government category was the US Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, VA for the Joint Knowledge Development Distribution Capability, which is an advanced, distributed learning enabler for the provision of relevant, timely and globally accessible joint knowledge to prepare individuals for Combatant Command assignment.

Honorable Mention Awards in the Government category will go to:

  • Air Force Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance for the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Transformation at the Pentagon
  • Unisys/Canada for the Innovative Biometric Access Control System for Canada's Port of Halifax
  • Naval Aviation Enterprise Current Readiness Cross Functional Team for the Maintenance and Supply Chain Sub-Team at the Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia and the Naval Air Systems Command at Pawtuxet River Naval Air Station
  • HQ USAFE Warrior Preparation Center for the Remotely Operated Video Enhanced Receiver (ROVER) Training Program at Einsiedlerhof Air Station, Germany.

All of these organizations demonstrated the best applications of technology and leadership to improve enterprise performance and achieve real, measureable results.

Ms. Jo Manson, Manager, Strategic Communications, Transportation Information Systems (PM TIS), US Army, one of this year's judges, said "The Excellence in Enterprise Integration awards program is a great competition. Being a judge raised my level of awareness about the quality of the overall award nominations and the commitment by Industry and Government to bring innovative problem solving and emerging technologies to the forefront of their program's solutions."
