Think you have what it takes to be an active AFEI Member?

If so - read on!

Welcome to the Association for Enterprise Integration

This association is made up primarily of industry members, large and small. Our purpose is simple: provide opportunities for industry and government to have influence on each other and to cooperatively engage on key issues that are interest to both. The association's mission is to:

  • Advocate the effective use of technology to promote enterprise-wide ability to share information
  • Promote vigorous, responsive, open and objective Government-Industry and Business-Business collaboration
  • Provide platform for exchange of information on issues, policy strategy and best practices
  • Collect and disseminate information resources that help define enterprise integration into the future

AFEI is an affiliate (subsidiary) of the National Defense Industrial Association. However, our concerns go beyond defense of the nation. For example, the association is looking at what commercial, consumer driven technologies such as Web 2.0 mean for government.

In the past government controlled its own destiny when it came to software and applications. Increasingly that control is diminished as the government becomes more dependent on commercial products. As the commercial sector adopt such things as Web 2.0, mash-ups, flicker, etc., how can the government take advantage?

At AFEI we have working groups actively engaged with government to work on policy, strategy and organizational understanding and adoption of evolving technology. Our multi-faceted approach and our objective, independent and neutral position places AFEI in a unique position with government.

Here are some of the areas we are working in with government:

  • Information Assurance
  • Enterprise Security Management
  • Identity Management
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Data and Services Strategy
  • Information Sharing
  • SOA

If you want to be a part of these communities and want to have an impact, if you want to influence government thinking towards positive outcomes, if you are not afraid of contributing effort for the greater good, if you need to increase your connections and be a player in determining how information-centric operations happen, then I suggest you become an active member of AFEI. We take it beyond networking!
