Purpose
The Warfighter’s Vision Conference is the annual open dialogue between warfighters, defense planners, and industry partners. It is the principle forum for asking the hard questions and digging into complex issues necessary to deliver the best capabilities in a complex and rapidly changing landscape. The purpose is to:
- Provide a forum for discussing topics of concern to combatant commands and DoD officials
- Provide input to DoD policy makers regarding needs and priorities
- Inspire attendees with “stories from the edge” where the deployed forces operate
- Present attendees specific information they can take away and apply in their work
- Generate understanding of and support for warfighter requirements
Joint warfighting, intelligence, and defense business operations depend on accurate information shared in a secure, networked infrastructure. New systems, doctrine, and training are required to address the new challenges which are continually emerging as we move forward.
About the Conference
This is the annual meeting of policy makers, capability providers and combatant commanders to discuss progress, requirements and emerging trends in achieving a network-enabled Defense enterprise. Previous Warfighter’s Vision Conferences have been held in conjunction with CENTCOM, STRATCOM, SOCOM and the JCS J6 and have featured a long list of DoD leaders including General Cartwright, LTG Dempsey, John Grimes, LTG Blum, VADM Nancy Brown, LTG McChrystal, LtGen Elder, Dave Wennergren, BG Bowman, RADM Leigher, BGen Vautrinot, BGen Johnson, and BGen Helms.
At Warfighter’s Vision 2010, we intend to continue the dialogue between military, government, industry, and allied nations begun in 2009 to address these issues. The conference features panels of military and civilian leaders throughout the Department of Defense, together with industry and allied partners addressing the current challenges.
