“A sense-and-respond organization does not attempt to predict future demand for its offerings. Instead, it identifies changing customer needs and new business challenges as they happen, responding to them quickly and appropriately.”

- Adaptive Enterprise: Creating and Leading Sense-and-Respond Organizations, Stephan H. Haeckel

With:

VADM (ret.) Arthur K. Cebrowski, Director, Force Transformation
Office of the Secretary of Defense

The Office of Force Transformation is leading this two-day, interactive seminar and workshop on implementing the adaptive business concepts of “sense-and-respond” within the Department of Defense and industry.

This event will:

  • Provide an update on the progress being made in adopting sense and respond concepts in DoD transformational initiatives.
  • Identify benefits, opportunities, and challenges for industry.
  • Address the development of public-private partnerships to foster adaptive enterprises.
  • Develop the basic framework for a roadmap to implementing adaptive enterprises.

“Transformation is foremost a continuing process. It does not have an end point. Transformation is meant to create or anticipate the future. Transformation is meant to deal with the co-evolution of concepts, processes, organizations and technology.”
