 The DEAA Awards Program

Conduct of the 2013 Awards Program is on hold. A decision has been made by the DoD CIO to not conduct an 8th Annual DoD Enterprise Architecture Conference.  The staff of the DoD CIO is looking at other options to provide a venue for this continued and important information exchange.

The Defense Enterprise Architecture Awards were begun in 2008 to honor individuals and organizations making progress in using architecture to deliver capabilities to the warfighters serving this country. These awards are given jointly by AFEI and the Office of the DoD Chief Information Officer, Enterprise Architecture and Standards Directorate.

The purpose of these awards is to recognize the significant contributions and achievements of organizations in advancing the practice of enterprise architecture to enable the achievement of mission success in all operations of the Department:  war-fighting, business and intelligence.

The Office of the CIO, Department of Defense in conjunction with the Association for Enterprise Information (AFEI) is pleased to announce the winners of the fifth DoD Enterprise Architecture Achievement (DEAA) Awards Program.  Awardees are recognized for leveraging the power of architecture in enterprise management. The Awards will be presented at the annual DoD Enterprise Architecture Conference on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Miami, FL.

In reviewing the award submissions, Mr. Brian Wilczynski, Director, Architecture & Interoperability, Office of the DoD CIO said, "I'm impressed with this year's response to the call for nominations; it's a reflection on all the outstanding work going on across the Department.  The quality of the submissions was exceptional; competition was keen and it came down to a very tight set of discriminators to select the finalists.  It is rewarding to see the dedication and perseverance of so many organizations that support our DoD missions through the discipline of architecture. I offer my congratulations to the finalists and my thanks to all those who participated in this year's awards.
